I was wondering if anyone could translate the following Ghazal for me. Although Urdu is technically my native language, I have lived abroad from childhood, so it isn't as proficient as I would like. Though I try, when I can, to improve it. Thanks, I would greatly appreciate any help on this. There are quite a few Ghazals on my mind that I would like to understand better, but for now this is the one:

I have heard a few versions of this by various artists though on none of the videos was a translation offered:

Hasti Apni Hubab ki si hai
By Meer Taqi Meer

hasti apni hubab ki si hai
ye numaish sarab ki si hai

nazuki us k lab ki kya kahiye
pankhari ik gulab ki si hai

bar bar us k dar pe jata hun
halat ab iztirab ki si hai

main jo bola kaha k ye awaz
usi khana-kharab ki si hai

'Mir' un nim-baz ankhon main
sari masti sharab ki si hai

..Our existence is like a globe
this exhibition is like a mirage

nazuki us k lab ki kya kahiye
pankhari ik gulab ki si hai

What to say about fragility of his/her lips
Petal like that of a rose

bar bar us k dar pe jata hun
halat ab iztirab ki si hai

Again and again I visit her door
Condition is sort of an agitation

main jo bola kaha k ye awaz
usi khana-kharab ki si hai

When I spoke, said that this voice
Is that of the same wretched person

'Mir' un nim-baz ankhon main
sari masti sharab ki si hai

Mir in those semi-open eyes,
All the mischief is like that of the drink

Hi there... This just an attempt at literal translation...not an attempt to transliterate...any mistakes are regretted.

Hope it conveys the meaning and is helpful in any way.

Thank you very much for the translation. I did get a general sense yes, though I was wondering what does he mean by the word globe in there? I can't seem to find the meaning of the word hubab anywhere else.

Hubab is the globe surrounding the burning wick in a lantern or a camplight. Normally they are used in traditional fuel burning lamp with wick. A hubab not onky keeps the light from wind but also helps increase the brightness.
